New communication technologies have brought many innovations to the field of journalism, as in every field, and have brought about a change in journalism practices. With the development of new communication technologies, news has become an area of activity that can be carried out by individuals in network-based environments by getting rid of the mainstream image that reaches the society through mass media. New communication technologies express that they bring democratization and polyphony in this sense Content analysis of the content in the context of citizen journalism on the Street Cat youtube channel, Ahsen TV youtube channel and Sade Citizen youtube channel, which have different ideologies in terms of revealing the role of ideology and political economy approach in the practice of reporting from citizen journalists who carry out network-based journalism, which are called new media environments in the study. The content analysis study was limited to November 2021 – November 2022. While the content analysis method has the ability to digitize a large amount of data in keeping the time interval wide, attention has been paid to keep the time interval wide at the point of revealing the broadcast policies of the channels that do citizen journalism. As a result of the research, it was concluded that citizen journalism was biased towards the choice of news source in which it deals with citizens instead of accredited sources in news sources, and that the journalist violated the principle of impartiality in the news by making discursive interventions to the source in the news. Although the thesis is put forward that citizen journalism covers those who cannot find a place in the mainstream that defends polyphony, it has been observed that this situation does not reflect the truth.
